Softmodding my Wii

First of all, I updated my Wii System Menu to 4.3E, so all the IOS‘es were updated before I did anything else.

Then I Formatted my SD Card, Found my Wii’s MAC adress, and used LetterBomb to run the Hackmii Installer.

After I Installed Everything in the Hackmii Installer, I used the IOS236 Installer, to re-introduce a bug from older IOS’es. The so-called Trucha Bug.

I got the Trucha bug into an IOS at slot 236 so I could use Dop-Mii to delete the Stub-IOS’es installed by Nintendo.

After those were deleted I installed the newest custom IOS, or cIOS for short. I installed the cIOSX rev21d2x v7. This works great with USB Loader GX, And with Mighty Channels.

Then my external USB Drive was Partitioned With WBFS for Wii Disc Games, and Fat32 for everything else I might need on there.

Now I just had to plug my USB-Drive into the correct USB slot at the back of the Wii, and launch USB-Loader GX from the Homebrew Channel. Insert my game to the Wii’s disc drive, and let USB-Loader rip my game to the USB-Drive. Then rinse and repeat for every game 😛

My first entry.

Hello everyone, this is where I [TerminalSmurf] will post stuff about my projects, or my hacked/modded devices or other stuff.

To kick this off, I will add a new post later today about how I softmodded my Nintendo Wii, and ripped all my games to a USB Hard-drive, so my originals can sit safely unscratched in their covers:)

I’ll add descriptions and download links to some of my projects too.

I do a bit of coding in VB.NET, so if there’s a small/quick application you need for anything, just let me know, and I’ll get back to you 🙂
